Empowering Black Women to Unapologetically Lead

The recent attacks on Black women within higher educational institutions have highlighted the need for intentional affinity spaces for Black female leaders. While these attacks are not new, social media provides an opportunity to see anti-Black female racism enacted in the palm of our hands. Black women, already disrespected, unprotected, and neglected, must be in affinity as a concrete strategy to manage racial trauma; the toll of working and living within white supremacist systems leaves very little room for Black women to breathe. Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard uses her own Black Female Leadership Framework to curate an unapologetic space for Black women to share, learn, empathize, and receive transformative support to address intersectional racism.

“The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the Black woman. The most neglected person in America is the Black woman.”

—Malcolm X, 1962.

Amazing that this quote is still relevant over 62 years later.
