Black Educational Leadership

From Silencing to Authenticity

Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard & Christopher Knaus use Critical Race Theory and Anti-Racist Pedagogy to highlight the lives of several Black school leaders and one school district administrator as they continue to develop anti-racist, purpose-driven leadership identities. Recognizing that schools within the United States maintain racial disparities, the authors highlight Black leaders who transform school systems.

Harvest Consulting supports organizations to disrupt internalized white supremacy through intensive training, coaching, and dismantling systemic oppression. Navigating racist systems is particularly difficult for Black and Indigenous Folx of Color and requires frequent affinity spaces. Dr. Rogers-Ard curates these nurturing spaces toward organizational sustainability and growth.

Using Dr. Rogers-Ard’s Five Senses of Organizational Transformation, this two-year engagement is crafted to facilitate continuous improvement and adaptability aligning with your evolving organizational needs. Over this comprehensive period, we will focus on these key pillars: Values, Antiracist policies & procedures, Leadership, and Social and Emotional Learning

Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard

The H.A.R.T Model

Dr. Rogers-Ard discusses the five elements of anti-racist work, supports and challenges Senior Leaders to see themselves as agents of change while grappling with the subtleties of leading this work versus doing the work. For BIPOC women and men, Dr. Rogers-Ard takes the lead in developing the relationship needed to be a critical thought partner.

For white co-conspirators, Dr. Rogers-Ard partners with white colleagues to provide additional support. Monthly coaching sessions focus on increasing Senior Leaders’ level of self-awareness to analyze their leadership impact, apply anti-racist strategies, and anticipate navigating leadership hurdles.
